James is the best. He tailors the lesson to what you want to learn and asks what types of music you like, so you can start playing your favorite songs.

James is awesome! He teaches both my kids (11 & 13) AND my husband! He’s great with all of them! He’s knowledgeable, a great teacher, has a really positive upbeat attitude, and he’s an awesome guitarist! You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and it shows during each lesson. Everyone is progressing, learning, and having fun! So glad I signed my family up with James :)

I took lessons with James for about 18 months. Simply put, James is awesome. He is an awesome guitar player, and a fantastic teacher. I started out a total novice at the time of our first lesson. I could barely switch chords in the beginning. When I look back on what he tought me, I totally appreciate the importance of an actual teacher vs self teaching through videos and articles etc. A teacher is totally necessary and James' lessons covered all styles of music, music theory, improvising, and all done on both acoustic and electric guitars. He made learning the guitar easy and fun, which is always what he emphasized - learning should be fun and enjoyable. At the end of the day it is up to the guitar student to practice practice and practice some more - and with that discipline combined with James' instruction and coaching, you will be set up for success.

After very poor experiences at School Of Rock and Bach To Rock, which emphasized the depletion of my wallet as opposed to actually teaching my son guitar, I went online to search for a Guitar Teacher in my area. Several instructors came up on my radar. but something about James' profile intrigued me and I gave him a call. Instantly, I knew he was the right choice. From his buoyant and effervescent personality, to his savvy curriculum that combines both theory and learning to play songs that appeals to the student's musical interests, James possesses a unique quality that other instructors in the industry should emulate. Every week, my son really looks forward to having his lesson with James, and so do I, since he brings a positive energy into the house that's infectious. My son has progressed where not only can he read music and charts, but also has an arsenal of songs that he can play. In fact, every song my son has requested, no matter how complex, James has been able to teach him efficiently and effectively. Without reservation, I can easily recommend James as a reliable, fun and great guitar instructor.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with James for five years now and it's only been great. Each year I've progressed more and learned all aspects of the instrument, from theory to blues and jazz.
